[00:01:19]
Genecia Alluora: Hello and welcome to today's episode. It is all about failed partnerships giving a second chance. You know, I went through a failed partnership, went into a six figure debt, and it was horrible. And I labeled myself. I'm not worthy of doing business anymore. I should just go back and become an occupational therapist once again in the health care industry that I was. I'm not capable enough. I'm just so stupid. I hate myself. I labeled myself with all these negative emotions because I wasn't able to get out of my black hole. When I started to own my story and tell it as it is and feel the pain burn through all the pain that was there. I transcended to being able to stand up once again. I gave myself a second chance. It was not because by choice, it was because I found a mentor who was able to guide me through my difficult times, who counseled me and walked with me during my difficult times. And his name is James. James Wee, and I'm very glad that he encouraged me. I mean, he asked me this question, What is the worst than worst? What is the worst than rock bottom? The only way is up. Turn your mess into a message, he said.
[00:02:57]
Genecia Alluora: And I was blown away. I couldn't believe my ears. What? I have to turn all this negativity into positivity? It's so tough. You see, we make our language, our words and our mind, whatever that we are thinking into a reality. But do you know that every spoken word and everything that you think in your mind becomes a blueprint? What is the blueprint that you want to give yourself in order to achieve your success? I gave myself a second chance. And because of this mentor, I was really respect. I really respect him a lot and I just trusted him and just follow exactly what needs to be done to go from offline to online, to move forward and to move my life forward. Remember, we are not alone. If you keep thinking that you are alone and you are not willing to ask for help and you're just stuck in your own black hole, then it will be very difficult because you've been left overwhelmed and unworthy forever. As I always say, taking the poison, hoping other person will die, but the person won't. So eventually I made my first $100,000 in three months and $1 million in a single year. And then because I gave myself a second chance, I invested into a cafe retail chain with my partners that includes James, Wilson and the rest of the Gin gang. And this time around, we set a couple of things in place said contracts in place. Who invested? How much? How is there, you know, if the main shareholders would put in the funds while shares be diluted? What kind of things do we need to do? What kind of roles do we need to play within the within our respective positions?
[00:04:58]
Genecia Alluora: How then, who is the overall leader? So with all these pieces. So for example, Wilson was the overall leader. He was the CEO, I was the PR and marketing guy, and Daniel was the operations guy. You know, James was the guy in charge of franchise and licensees. And in the end, because of more strategic way of partnership, we were able to grow the business into three countries. The cafe retail chain grown from just Singapore, went into Malaysia and Indonesia. In total we had 18 franchisees and licensees. It was amazing. I never thought we could make so much money. I never thought I would have such breakthrough in partnerships. Yes, we do fight. We do quarrel. We do have that. But you know, what is the main difference here? We had a vision. We all of us have a common vision, a common goal. We wanted to bring coffee culture into the lives of the many people out there and also to help people to start their own businesses where they could not even, you know, start their own businesses owning a coffee business or a cafe business without having someone to guide them side by side.
[00:06:24]
Genecia Alluora: And because of this knowledge, because I've given myself a second chance, this led on to how I grew Soul Rich Woman into seven countries and using a leveraging podcasting reach out to more listeners than ever before in 48 countries. Wow. Imagine that I have not even given myself a second chance. I would still be thinking this poor, lonely. I'm so victim kind of mindset. I would just still be stuck in that. But because I chose to give myself a second chance, saying no to my failures and rising up, being empowered once again, owning back my power, that's in my hands. I was able to progress. To partner in a cafe retail chain. Growing it to three countries with 18 licensees and franchisees winning the Franchise licensing award in 2014 as the promising franchisor and promising franchisee.
[00:07:36]
Genecia Alluora: This is an award, awarded by FLE. It's not it cannot be bought by money. It was because of the impact that we have created with our businesses. I just felt at the moment that God has called out to me and said, Rise up, this is your time. And I took the next step. Got out of my comfort zone. And after four years, we exited to the public listed company owner. I am so blessed because I gave myself a second chance. I created a milestone in my life where I didn't hold myself back anymore and putting on chains, on myself, saying that it's the other person's fault with a mentor, like minded people. Similar vision alignment our souls combined. We were able to achieve greatness. So I want to encourage you today to let go of your past, because your past does not equal to your future. Give your failures or failed partnerships a second chance. Give yourself a second chance. Take care. And. Bye for now.
