[00:01:17]
Genecia Alluora: Hello and welcome to today's episode. Today it's all about OwN your story and tell it like it is. A lot of times I was so afraid to tell my story because I was afraid to say it. I'm Miss Singapore, you know, an entertainment. I was on radio. I was on TV. I was in magazine. I didn't want to look weak. I didn't want to come across as whiny or complaining on media. Or is it on my social media? Doesn't matter. I felt really vulnerable. I just felt really vulnerable. And I was really afraid. So why is telling stories own our story and tell it like it is so important? In my journey, telling stories healed my soul. Being vulnerable helped me with connecting with my audience. Owning up to my story provided strategies to help others who needed help, or while going through the same path as I did. How do I discover this journey of telling story? It was a couple of years ago when I decided to stand up and talk about my six figure debt. It was such a shameful experience. To be owing money because of a failed partnership.

[00:02:47]
Genecia Alluora: There were a lot of backstabbing, a lot of gossiping happening in the industry. I felt really sad. I was demoralized. I just felt I couldn't walk out of the black hole anymore. It was that time when I was doing my pageant coaching. And, you know, as an image consultant, I really wanted to support my friends who wanted to do business together. And we formed a company. And this went haywire. First and foremost, never do business with friends. Number two, don't do business with friends who don't want to write contracts or neither. They were black and white. Number three, when you want to do business, you put if you are the biggest shareholder don't expect them being the small shareholder to do majority of the work because it's not going to work. Me being the biggest shareholder, thinking that by supporting this entire business, I could become a sleeping partner because I was just running my another business, which was the image consulting business. And this was like on the side, right?

[00:03:58]
Genecia Alluora: But in the end, it didn't turn out well and everything just fell apart. And then I went into a six figure debt. I'm unable to face up to the truth. And it took me a while before I decided that it was time to own up. So how and why the steps that I took it. First and foremost, I wrote down all my milestones. I wrote down the milestones of what I've been through. What are some of the things I've done and how do I overcome it? So I coined this thing called a U. Shaped storytelling method that I like to share with you today. First you state your success. Then you state your journey. Then you state how you overcome back then. By this U-shaped model. It has helped me to share my story more confidently as a woman leader, Miss Singapore. And also now the founder of Soul Rich Woman. It's never easy to own up to your responsibility of the character in the story because we have the tendency to blame people. We just want to blame someone else. But you know what? I've healed myself. Because I tell myself. I can't be just taking the poison. And then hoping the other people will die.

[00:05:41]
Genecia Alluora: So I've decided to stand up. And share the story bravely and courageously with you. Why and how I got into the six figure debt. And by sharing my story over the last many years, I've helped thousands of women to break through their debt, to stand up and rise up. To own up to their five figure debts, some of them six figure debts to be able to rise up and say, yes, I want to 10x my financial independence, Genecia. It is no longer about me anymore, but it's about changing my life to be a better version. You are just an F word away to your financial independence. When you own your story and tell it like it is. You help someone else who is probably just slightly behind you. Who or who may just be as inspired as you are or someone successful listening to your story. And they said, Wow, you resonate just like me in the past.

[00:06:50]
Genecia Alluora: And that was how many of my clients came to me. Some of them are CEOs of companies, politicians, directors, decision makers, woman leaders, because my story resonated with them. So today my friend used a U shaped model. What are your successes? What are what is your journey? By stating some of the milestones you wish to anchor in into your storytelling. And then how did you overcome it? I really look forward to hearing more of you standing up for yourself once again and not hide in your shell anymore. 1.1s Because when we share our voice, that's when we can inspire someone else who could be just as depressed. Who would like to commit suicide. Who could be facing serious problems in their parenting, with their child, with their husband in their life and turn them from stock to unstoppable. So let's do it together. Alone. We are strong. Together we are unstoppable.
