Genecia Alluora: Hello, gorgeous. Welcome to Soul Why, Secrets of the Soul Rich Woman Blueprint. I am your host, Genecia Alluora. Today I want to talk about building your tribe, building a community, building your list. Now, these are what we call interchangeable terms, but I would like to give you a context first, why I'm talking about this topic. So before I even started building Soul Rich Woman, remember I was an image consultant running a consultancy business. I was serving clients who were CEOs, directors of companies, ministers, politicians, basically high level premium clients who pay between 5000 to $20,000 a project. And these are because I serve very premium clients. I don't really have a lot of what we call a big list. I don't have a big database. Okay. So there's only that number, right? That's why I didn't didn't make that much money, even though I make good money per project. But it was not really like, Wow, right? It was not. Well, that was why I eventually stopped trading time for money. Because if I work, I get paid, I work, I get paid, I don't work, I don't get paid.

Genecia Alluora: So that's why I eventually I value my own freedom and time much more. And because my goal and reason why I do entrepreneurship is because of my family. I want to spend more time with my mom anytime and anywhere you know possible. I want to spend time with my brother, my father, you know. So these are reasons why I am in entrepreneurship and an entrepreneur. Okay. So coming back, I love telling stories. But anyway, coming back to where I was at. So I'm saying that, you know, building that was really small number. And then when I decided to go online, I focus a lot on traffic. I didn't build a community yet. I was focusing on traffic. Okay. I didn't even think about the word community back then. Community that word wasn't that hype and wasn't that popular yet. It was more like traffic where I was getting people to come and notice me.

Genecia Alluora: It's like, imagine you have a store at a shopping mall, again, a corner of the shopping mall. And what kind of traffic are you having people walking into your store to buy their coffee from you? Remember, I got retail chain. Okay. Cafe. Retail chain. So how many people actually walk into the store and buy coffee from us? So that's offline traffic. And I was focused on building the online traffic for my business online. And because of that, I was able to bring in thousands and thousands of people buying from me. And that was what eventually, of all the people who came, of all the traffic, that came to my online business, I eventually made my first million dollars because I built traffic and I built an email list. Aha. Ding ding. Keyword. Yes, that's the keyword, email list. So that's how I built up an email list. And then later on you convert all these cold traffic, call people who don't know who you are and then allow them to follow you with consistency, with batching momentum of content, and then you convert them into hot clients.

Genecia Alluora: And the contrast between the two business model, one premium clients, but only have that many. Yes, I make good money per project, but I was limited because I didn't have a lot of database or what we call email list. And now in 2013, I already have thousands and thousands of database or what we call email list. And because of that, I was able to cross my first million dollars because the money is in the list. The money is in the list and the traffic that you bring to your business online is also important for your success online. So it's never just about posting on Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram. Then I always hear you talking about posting on social media. Is it this? Is it posting? No, it's not. Just doing organic. Yeah. Okay. You can get some referrals, word of mouth. You get your people who already know you to be seen as an expert, but to go beyond that, to grow to $1 million, to have 200,000 members on a subscription model at $12 a month. To growing your business to the next level. All these boils down by building traffic, building your tribe. And also your email list. So this is essential. Okay. Very important. And I want to highlight to you.

Genecia Alluora: So the question is, how do you even get started? Right? I mean, even now, if Soul Rich Woman? We are consistently building up our tribe, our database, because now database is king, which means you build up a good email list. Remember, it's not spamming, it's not really going out there and giving anything that that brings in any type of customers. Sell to everybody, sell to nobody, speak to one, speak to many. This literally brings in people who are targeted, whom we want to communicate with, whom we want to support, especially, for example, Soul Rich Woman. We have ctually four different types of clients. First two 9 to 5 employees. And whether they are looking for a side hustle. So these are the 9 to 5 employees looking for a side hustle. The 9 to 5 employees who are transitioning. That means they are transitioning to be entrepreneur. They want to turn their talent into a business, turn their passion into a paycheck. They come to Soul Rich Woman.

Genecia Alluora: The third type we have are stay at home moms. They are ten year, 14 years stay at home moms. They have some form of workforce experience before. And now that their kids have grown up, you know, 16, 17, 18 years old, they want to live their dreams. They want to, you know, kind of take out their dreams from their cupboard and their drawers to kind of fulfill their dreams. And the next one that we have are female entrepreneurs, full time female entrepreneurs who want to grow their business. They want to grow their database. They want to grow more customers. Even as a solopreneur. These female entrepreneurs are mainly solopreneurs, and they eventually want to build teams, but they don't know how to do it. So we have these four main type of customers in our database, in our email list, who are our tribe in Soul Rich Woman. So it is necessary for us to focus building our tribe by talking to the right people online by focusing on the right type of traffic to build your email list.

Genecia Alluora: Remember, the money is in the list. If you don't have a database, you don't have an email list. You don't have a tribe. Without any marketing of sorts. I can tell you your business will not be able to sustain and thrive whether there's economic crisis or not, because over the last five, six years, seven years, eight years, nine years, I've built up now a big list. And because of that, we are able to consistently communicate with them and continue to nurture them and then build them up to the next level. So what are you doing today in your business?
