Genecia Alluora: Hello, hello, gorgeous. Welcome to the show. My name is Genecia Alluora. Good day to you. I want to share with you today on my journey of writing a book versus doing a podcast and how it has impacted me and also the trends that I've spotted moving forward. Now, I started writing my books in 2012, 2013, about the same time when I decided to go online. And that's why my book is called Secrets of Personal Branding. It's a book that is very close to my heart, and I've used these exact strategies to help CEOs, ministers, politicians, decision makers to really shine on stage and also in their business. Okay, being seen as a leader in their field. So putting this book together was a hard, long, tough journey because first, I'm not a writer. Number two, I mean, I have no knowledge on putting a book together, right? And number three, it's really tough because I have to proofread again and again and make sure that everything is good and well. To me, writing a book is quite tedious. And now pulling the time forward. I'm doing podcasting. I have this is my second podcast. I've got two podcast. One is called For Women Who Love the F-word, which I interview big, big names and inspirational figures like Gary Vaynerchuk, Nick Sengal, Sheryl Sandberg, Mary Buffet, Neil Patel and many more.

Genecia Alluora: By having these thought leaders on the podcast, it has brought that podcast itself to 48 countries with thousands of downloads every single month. And this podcast is more of a micro podcast, which means this Soul Why the Secrets of Soul Rich Woman Blueprint. This one is more of a micro podcast approach, which means it's shorter within 10 to 15 minutes and it gets point across. Is it a short point on many points within a period of time across. So it's meant for a different purpose. It's a supplement of what I've been doing. So kind of like having different types of content reaching out to people. So I'm evaluating a couple of things. Yes, a book gives me credibility because I'm an author. It's published. It's sold more than 10,000 copies. And then it has really gone around the world since I've opened up to give this gift away right now for free and even more helping people through my books. So it's not really a way of making money. It's more of, you know, putting my kind of knowledge and expertise together to serve you.

Genecia Alluora: So that's what I've been doing for my book. But the process to put the book together was really long and hard. Too many technical processes and too many things involved. Whereas our podcast is a little bit more free flow, even though it's still a strategy and strategized succinctly for both podcast I'm doing, whether is it a one hour podcast versus this ten minute micro podcast both ways as a win win, because first and foremost, it really travels farther than I've ever thought. I've never thought of, you know, going to 48 countries and having listeners and followers and clients beyond the Southeast Asia and Asia shores. And by doing podcasting, it has given me much more leverage and I've become searchable online even more. So the the podcasting strategy really has a lot of leverage, especially now the trend I've spotted in the last two years, especially in Southeast Asia and in Asia, where not a lot of women are doing podcasting.

Genecia Alluora: So that is why I set up a women podcast, Asia. Is an extended initiative by soul rich women, where we get women on board onto our platform to do podcasting. So we are the Netflix of podcasts for women in Asia. So if you have friends, girlfriends who are in Asia and Southeast Asia who are looking to do podcasting, I want you to share this with them because a lot of podcasters are doing this alone. That means they launch their own episode. They just launched their own podcast, One Person. But can you imagine a group of women coming together to be seen and to be heard in Asia where women voices come together, women power is no longer just a word. It's become a movement where alone we are strong, together we are unstoppable. So for you, what is the takeaway while lesson learned? Well, I can share with you that if you have not done podcasting, now is the time. I know that some of you are thinking about writing books because traditionally it's a great way to get your content seen and heard. But did you know that audiobooks are also on the rise?

Genecia Alluora: And, you know, Soul Rich Woman here, we offer audio trainings in our audio books and has sold thousands and thousands of people, you know, and it's really amazing how I've seen the transformation of books versus voice marketing and words versus voice marketing and how this becomes a part of the key marketing strategy and no longer just a single approach of just having a book and being seen as an author. So if you are looking at have not got on podcasting, I see the first one is really to get on podcasting. Number two, you know, really look into voice marketing as one of your key strategy moving forward in the next couple of years, in fact. Last but not least, you know, do look at women.
