178: 4 Major Business Upgrades To Make This Year

Genecia Alluora: Hey, gorgeous. Welcome to this episode. In this episode, I will be talking about how to make upgrades in your business. So, this week is all about taking action and applying the law of incremental upgrades to your business. Now, what I've learned from growing my business very quickly in the early days is that when you become successful, it is because you are being consistent over time and by making small tweaks regularly.

Genecia Alluora: So today we want to look into the ranking of things in your business, like your marketing, your systems, your mindset, to find out what needs to be upgraded. Now remember, upgrading is not always about spending money. You could use the things you already have, but sometimes you are unnecessarily cheap with yourself. You might be expending unnecessary energy trying to save a few dollars, when you could use that creative energy to make more money in your business. This assignment today has four parts upgrading your systems, upgrading your support, upgrading your marketing, and upgrading your mindset.

Genecia Alluora: As usual, the upgrades in themselves usually are not difficult, they are pretty easy. What's interesting is what is going to show up for you. So I will run through these suggested upgrades and I've got tons of ideas for you. You don't have to do everything today, you don't have to upgrade everything at once. You don't have to spend a ton of money.

Genecia Alluora: All you need to do is just start. Your success might be incremental or it might really happen very quickly. Depends on how fast and how willing you are willing to move. The most important part is to upgrade with consistency and always keep moving forward. So, what are some of the areas of the business upgrade for yourself?

Genecia Alluora: So, like I said, there are four areas systems, support, marketing, mindset. So the keys to upgrading your business is to first start with the annoying things, which is things that annoying you and you already know that it doesn't work for you. The second key is to upgrade anything that's holding back a flow of clients or holding back your money. So could be systems, could be anything else. Prioritize things that make your life easy.

Genecia Alluora: So that's the third key. The fourth key is upgrade with the resources you have right now. Don't wait. Now you might face resistance. You say, Genecia, I'm facing resistance right now. Ah, great opportunity to discover new things.

Genecia Alluora: To clear, dig deeper and ask yourself why you are resisting upgrading your business. Four questions to ask yourself, what's familiar about this situation, happened before? What am I making these mean to me? What belief is behind it? What do I want instead?

Genecia Alluora: Remember, done is better than perfect. Perfection is overrated. Consistent improvement wins every single time. So now we move to upgrading your systems. Now, definition of business systems would be how your business works and runs, how you get things done, systemize and streamline. So you are not constantly reinventing the wheel.

Genecia Alluora: Remember, you don't have to change everything at once. Some examples for you, payment systems like your merchant account how you get paid, the methods, the way clients can pay you. Terms and conditions, contracts and policies around every part of your interactions with clients and suppliers. Refund policies, how and when you refund your products and services.

Genecia Alluora: SOP standard operating procedures how every part of your business is done. Usually used for employees so that knowledge isn't held in someone else's brain. Appropriate business structure. Do you need to change your business legal structure? For example, a sole proprietor to a limited company LLP or a private limited company?

Genecia Alluora: Accounting and bookkeeping systems, money systems are you paying yourself a salary? Banking, are you happy with your bank and business accounts?

Genecia Alluora: Web hosting, security systems antispam email and customer support systems who answers emails? Who answer the WhatsApp, when and how? Email provider and newsletter software, scheduling system for clients are you making it easy for people to book in the time with you? Are you also making things easy for people to book their delivery dates with you? Hiring System Policy, how do you hire, fire and onboard staff members?

Genecia Alluora: You got to ask yourself now as we're going through, what are the three most broken systems in your business right now that is costing you time or causing you anxiety right now? Question two, what are some of the three systems or what are the three systems in your business that are working most amazingly right now? Like your top tier part of the business?

Genecia Alluora: Question Three, What do I need to upgrade urgently now or in the next month? Question Four, What do I need to upgrade next in the next few months? Question Five, What do I need to upgrade in the future within the next year? Question six, what am I resisting the most? What is my greatest resistance right now?

Genecia Alluora: The next part of upgrading is upgrading your marketing. Now, marketing is simply how you show up in the world to potential customers. Upgrading your marketing is the easiest way to attract new customers and income into your life. Some ideas for you will be a website you're proud of up to date professional hit shots committing to consistent weekly newsletters or weekly live streams or weekly podcast create free optins so that your customers or potential customers know that you can solve the problem for them immediately before making their next purchase. Beautiful branding that reflects your goals for your business, content marketing or editorial lender for your blog or your podcast, social media presence and scheduling for your postings. Using search engine optimization or SEO to improve your Google ranking.

Genecia Alluora: Working with great joint venture partners or great collaborators. Increase your prices for products and services. Do a life launch for your course or program. Create passive income products. Write your first or next book. Start doing live webinars or live streaming. Doing live events and meetups for your tribe, your community or your group of customers.

Genecia Alluora: Create an affiliate program for your products and services in your business. Same thing. These are the questions you need to answer as we go along this upgrading. Question One, What are the three most economy class aspects of my marketing that's costing me time or causing me anxiety right now? Question Two, What are the three business class aspects of my marketing that are working great right now?

Genecia Alluora: Question Three, What do I need to upgrade urgently now in the next month? Question Four, What do I need to upgrade next in the next few months?Question Five, What do I need to upgrade in the future within the next year? Question six, what am I resisting the most? What is my greatest resistance upgrading my marketing.

Genecia Alluora: After looking at the marketing aspect, there is also upgrading your mindset. Now, your mindset is the most important critical part of having it all to create the F-word. Fabulous, freedom, financial independence and happy family for yourself, for your business. It's an ongoing process of clearing, refining and most of all reminding yourself that it is safe to grow and change. So some ideas for you will be calling yourself having courage to call yourself an author, a coach, an entrepreneur, a podcaster and claim it courage to tell people that you are an award winning entrepreneur.

Genecia Alluora: You have won podcast awards, live stream awards, video awards. You are out there, you are seen and you are heard. Saying no to things that you don't want to do anymore. Giving yourself permission to be a six or seven figure entrepreneur. Regular practice of forgiveness and EFT believe that you deserve amazing support in your business.

Genecia Alluora: Giving yourself time off, being appropriate and positive when you interact with people online. Give yourself permission to be rich and be eco friendly, be down to earth and whoever you want to be. Knowing why in your business, why do you do what you do? The courage to set new big goals. Put strong boundaries in place with friends, family and clients. Firing clients or team members who no longer serve you. Putting boundaries between people and friends who hold you back. Learning to be okay with criticisms and feedback.

Genecia Alluora: Being unattached from business challenges and not making up stories about yourself. Dealing with a fraud or I'm fake feeling when you start to become successful and make money in your business.

Genecia Alluora: So here are the questions that you need to ask yourself. Question one, what are the three most economy class or small class mindset blockages that cost me time or cause me anxiety right now? Question two, what are the three business class mindset shifts that I'm really proud of right now?

Genecia Alluora: Question three, what do I need to upgrade urgently now, in the next month? Question four, what do I need to upgrade in the next few months? Question five, what do I need to upgrade in the future within the next year?

Genecia Alluora: Question six, what am I resisting the most and what is my greatest resistance right now for upgrading my mindset? So there you have it. Any aha's, from this entire exercise? What are the three specific things in your business that make you feel particularly abundant, rich, wealthy, luxurious, special, fabulous, having freedom, financial independence, and truly experiencing the soul rich woman life.

Genecia Alluora: What are the three specific things in your business that make you feel cheap, poor, lack, stressed, anxiety, inconvenienced, sad. Next, anyone to add to your forgiveness list. Anyone whom you might need to forgive in order to continue to embrace your upgrade in business, in your life, in your marketing, in your mindset. Anything else that you need to work on? So, the suggested affirmations for this chapter is it's safe for me to have help? It's safe for me to work only in my zone of genius. It is safe for me to upgrade my team. It is safe for me to be surrounded by winners. It is safe for me to have a first class life and a first class business, which is to own and love the F word. Being fabulous, having freedom, financial independence and a happy family.

Genecia Alluora: Now, these are some of the common questions that I get asked. I think we need to address them. So the first question is, should I put a big upgrade on a credit card? Well, only you can answer that. There's a lot of free and low cost things you can do in your business first and spending money isn't always going to give you a big immediate return. Give yourself a challenge to manifest the money before you decide to put it back on credit. Often you can surprise yourself with creative ideas instead of falling back on your credit card.

Genecia Alluora: Should I pay for a high end coach and mentor? Well, having a coach and mentor is a great way to get accountability, advice and support. Now, paying more doesn't necessarily going to give you a better result. However, finding the appropriate one, the correct one for where you are at right now, that can help you to get from where you are now to where you want to be much, much faster, is going to be a great investment for yourself and for your business.

Genecia Alluora: You must always also ask yourself what kind of skills do you need right now and what kind of advice do you need? And work best with your personality. That way you can choose consciously and be able to upgrade yourself, your business and your life when you have this coach and mentor.

Genecia Alluora: One of the questions I get as well is how do I find my first assistant? Is it virtual assistant or assistant? It doesn't matter. All I can say is the moment you decide to outsource, you decide to delegate. It's an awesome step because it shows that the universe that you are willing to move in your zone of genius and you are able to delegate the task so that you have more free time to do the things that matters most in your business.

Genecia Alluora: Next question I get is how do I deal with refund request? Haha. Congratulations. Your first refund is just totally a part of business and it's something to celebrate about because you have people buying from you and therefore chances of refund will also be there. So that means you've got business and there's things happening, right? So just realize that it's a very normal and very unavoidable part of being in business. Another question I get is hey, Genecia. I think I need to fire a client. Any help? Okay, don't worry. This is something that all successful entrepreneurs have to deal with at some point.

Genecia Alluora: And seriously, life is way too short to work with people or to serve people who make you feel bad, cause you stress, make you have anxiety. Life is too short for that. How about how do I deal with clients defaulting? Now don't worry because this happens a lot and it doesn't have to be scary. Use it as an opportunity to tighten up your boundaries, for example, terms and conditions, and practice holding your clients to higher standards. So there you have it. Now you are fully upgraded or in that path of upgrading, whether is in your business, is it your mindset, your systems or your support structures or even your marketing, whatever that may be for you, that comes 1st, 2nd, or 3rd.
