Genecia Alluora: Hello gorgeous. My name is Genecia Alluora. I'm your host for Today and on this episode I want to talk about how to set an income goal. Now, when it comes to setting income goals, it's really common to get blocked or feel like you're not doing it right because do you set a big hairy, hairy goal? Or do you add up some realistic numbers on what you know you can achieve? Or will you put out mixed messages to the universe if you change it too often? Now, for a lot of women, picking up a number can be very hard. Sometimes when I do my coaching, I show my clients that they can achieve a certain target because they have not seen it yet and I could see it before them. It's really hard to convince them right?

Genecia Alluora: And many entrepreneurs are scared to commit to a number in case they are doing it wrong. Like culture, right? So today I've got some income goal setting tips for you and to help you overcome your resistance to making more money. First up, don't overthink it. The most important thing is this don't overthink your goal setting to the point that you never do it. Just picking a number is not even set into cast into stone. I mean, goal setting is free. You can do it as many times as you like and change it whenever. It doesn't cost you anything to set a goal. So don't procrastinate just because you somehow think you've only got one shot at it. That's perfectionism getting in the way and it's the single biggest block to becoming a good goal setter.

Genecia Alluora: So why do you even need an income goal? Why can't you just pretend and as and when you like and then you talk about it? Of course you can. However, setting an income goal will focus you and help you make decisions in your business. When you are weighing up ideas or your value ladder that you want to promote, you can look at the goal to help you to decide which direction will best serve your overall goals. And this can save you a lot of time and wasted effort so that you don't go off in random business directions or creating content that don't matter. I've been there, done that. So should your goal feel like a massive stretch now for some people, that's motivating. I mean, I personally like to set big hairy audacious goals and achieve them. Like launching 1000 of helping my clients launch 1000 episodes of podcast in six months. But if it's going to freak you out and scare the hell out of you, then setting a more achievable goal for yourself will make some sense. Now, there's no perfect way to do goal setting. Okay? The next thing to know is that there's no perfect way to set your income goals or any goals that matter.

Genecia Alluora: I wish I could tell you that there was one right way to set your goals which is going to make your life much easier. But there's nothing that is perfect because the big secret is that your intention and your clarity are the most important things. And a goal that you change over time is better than no goal at all. So, ways to Set your income Goal okay, here are some ideas for you. Income plus a Percentage one of the simplest ways to set your income goal for the year is to take your income for the past year and add a percentage. The percentage you choose could be based on how much you want your business to grow. Or you could choose a number that feels good for you or 20% feel good again. It should be an exciting stretch, but realistic enough to believe that it's possible or else you're going to get a mentor to guide you and kick your ass.

Genecia Alluora: Number two, calculate your lifestyle cost. Another way to set an income goal is to think about the lifestyle you want to have in the following year and calculate how much it costs you and that will give you a profit. Figure that's based on your goals and dreams. When you see it on paper, it makes it more real and possible somehow. Numbers get translated into massages, organic food, travel plans, or whatever lifestyle choices you make that makes it real in a way that numbers are on the page sometimes just can't do. Next one. Get strategic. Think about products and services that you offer and how many of each that you like to sell. Then look at how much that will make you, whether that's a goal that you are happy with. If you are, then great, your goals have been made. If you are not, then you might want to need to look at raising your prices or creating something different to sell.

Genecia Alluora: Next one, pick a number, any number. In reality, a goal is just a number. I mean, so it's perfectly fine if you just want to pick a number out of your candy box or tissue box and use that as your goal. Really, lots of successful people do it this way and it works fine for them. And remember, it's the clarity and intention that really matter. So as long as your goal is believable and it stretches you a bit out of your comfort zone, it's the right goal for you. Next one. Money blocks can get in the way. Now if you feel like setting a goal is too hot right now or you have set one and can't believe that you'll make it, then you've probably hit some money mindset blocks. That's really common and nothing to worry about. I've been helping women like you clear your money blocks and becoming a soul rich woman for years now and it's honestly the fastest way not only to increase your income, but also to expand your belief of what's even possible for you.
