Genecia Alluora: Hello, gorgeous. My name is Genecia Alluora, welcome back to the show. Now, today's episode, I want to talk about what is a money block. I know some of you wrote to me on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram. I know you have followed me and you are communicating with me. I am glad that you took the step. Okay? So what is a money block and do I have any? Now, even if you have not been in the soul rich woman community for long, you might not have really heard about the money blocks before because we talk a lot about the F word, right? Financial independence, freedom, fabulous, and having family. But the concept of money blocks is strange because on the surface, why wouldn't we want to make more money? How is the F word related to more money? It's weird when you think about it. Plus, even if you think about if you know money blocks, the bad news is that you cannot really entirely erase them from your life. They are like with you for life. Life is like a box of tissue paper.

Genecia Alluora: You pull out one, there's next layer. You pull out the next layer, pull out the next layer, there's still more tissue paper underneath until... Just think of it as a limitless tissue box of tissue paper. That's why you have to be vigilant and constantly be working on them. Alright? So if you've been feeling blocked or conflicted with money and you don't know why, today's episode will provide a great refresher from you. Sometimes you just have to go back to basics. So what exactly are money blocks, Genecia? Well, in my So Rich Woman blueprint, I describe a money block as anything that holds you back from making the money you want. Now, this is an underlying belief of fear about money. You may or may not be aware of it, but it's there. Sometimes it's completely hidden. Hidden story that sabotages you in weird sneaky ways.

Genecia Alluora: For example, many women that I coach, a mentor, and within the community don't think they have a money block. Instead, they just tell themselves that aren't good for business, they aren't meant to be rich. Even though they have built their funnels, they have learnt the value ladder. They know how to do stuff, but they still aren't meant for it. So it's way too easy to think that you don't make enough money because of something outside of you. Things like your clients being broke, the economy, the pandemic coronavirus, or any other random excuse. So now, don't get me wrong. There are external factors that can totally affect what you earn right now. But believing that you can't do anything about those factors and start earning more is purely an inside job. Just make sure that your excuses aren't money blocks, actually, they are.

Genecia Alluora: No excuse can stand in your way. For example, number one, if you think your clients can't afford your current rates, you could uplevel your marketing to make sure your value ladder or make sure your value is way much clearer. Or you just find a new target market that's more aligned to your pricing. Number two, if the economy sucks right now, you could create an affordable group program that lets you get paid multiple times for the same amount of work. Number three, if you are too busy to create passive income products, you could raise your prices to take on fewer clients and maybe hire some help to free up time too. See, these external factors might be 100% real, but the idea that they control what you earn is just a money block.

Genecia Alluora: So how do you know if you have money blocks? I'm going to go out and tell you that. You know, just trust me. Because you have them now. Why am I so sure? Because everyone does. I don't know a single entrepreneur, even the mega successful ones like the millionaire or the billionaires who don't still deal with some form of money blocks. And yes, that includes me. Because even though I teach these stuff, I go through it. And you know that famous quotes that I talk about motivation being like showering. Basically, it doesn't last. You have to do it daily. You have to shower. You get dirty, you go out, you sweat, you have to shower, right? So it's like the money blocks just keep coming back. So shifting your blocks isn't a one time thing. It's not like you clear one time. You say bye to them forever. In fact, every time you hit a new level in your business, you are going to see the same freaking money blocks coming up.

Genecia Alluora: The good news is that you will start to recognize them and deal with them much faster than each time than before. Meanwhile, I want you to really get this idea if you want more money, and it's just not coming my 99.9% certain diagnosis is money blocks, and the good news is that you can have money blocks and yet not allow it to stop you from achieving your dreams. Why do we have money blocks? A lot of women have an underlying fear that it's not safe for us to be rich or successful or both. Being a soul rich woman, deep down you probably have stories about how more money will lead to some negative outcomes. And if you talk about money in a community and you feel very stressed out and you just want to leave the community because they talk about making money and you feel that it's not right to charge or not right to have money, that's weird, right? Because on the surface, you think you want to make more, and then you have all these conflicting feelings inside of you.

Genecia Alluora: So really, it's a protective mechanism that we think will save us from some kind of perceived harm. Now, specific money blocks examples. Now, most people have pretty similar money blocks. Honestly, you might think your situation is unique, but it's probably not. Here are some of the common ones that I see, and let's see how many of them ring a bell for you. Number one, I'm just not meant to be rich. Sometimes this show ups as my family wasn't rich, so I can't be either. Number two, making money has to be hard. Number three, it's obscene to make a lot of money when other people don't have enough. Or I get this a lot. Like Genecia, who on earth will charge mentoring for $40,000 when people are already not making a lot of money and I can't pay you?

Genecia Alluora: These people. Okay. Number four, I just want to help people. I don't care about the money. Number five, rich people are greedy and selfish. Number six, people will stop loving me if I have too much money. Number seven, my partner parents and friends will freak out if I earn more money than them. Last but not least, it's more important to be happy than to be rich. It's more important to be courageous than to be rich. Once you know your particular money block, you can keep an eye on how it sabotages you. For example, take the really common one, which is, I have to work hard to make money. Now, if you have this block, it's probably you have actively sabotaged yourself to make it a self fulfilling prophecy. You might resist delegating, so you have to do everything yourself, or you are procrastinating it so that you have to pull in your midnight oil to finish your work. But when you catch yourself doing these destructive behaviors, you can stop in the moment and remember that it's just your money blocks. You can control how you act in those situations.

Well, it's awesome when that happens, but some blocks are way a lot more stubborn than others.
